Ai Helis beach
AI Helis beach is located near the airport and the town of Svoronata. The road leading to the beach is narrow and very difficult to pass.
At the end of the road, you will find a small parking lot, from where you have another fifty steps to the beach itself. On the beach, there are umbrellas with sunbeds at your disposal, as well as a beach bar.
The left part of the beach is covered with sand, and separated by steps from the right part, which is a combination of sand and rocks. The entry into the water is gradual and has a very long shallow, which is suitable for families with small children. Due to the large shallows, the water here is much warmer than on other beaches. From the beach you can see a small island with a church, and you can also see neighboring Zakynthos. There is another private access to the beach, which is not paved. There is no natural shade on the beach, there is a shower, a volleyball court on the beach, as well as a cafe above the beach. The only drawback of the beach, the noise made by the planes that land and take off from the nearby airport.
Above the beach there is a row of palm trees with some cacti. The beach is a natural cove, so there are generally no waves or winds. Due to its spaciousness, Ai Helis beach is never crowded. The beach is mostly inhabited by foreigners, and we did not see our tourists. Low-colored private houses in the area have their own access to the beach, which is not arranged. We think that some of those houses, for reasons inexplicable to us, are abandoned.
