Egremni beach

Egremni beach
Many consider Egremni to be the most beautiful beach on Lefkada, but it is still less accessible due to the incredible 347 steps you have to climb to get down to the beach.

It has been in the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Greece for years and is very popular with the Greek population. You can get to the beach on your own, and you can park your car in the public parking lot for free. There is also a large parking lot above the tavern that costs 4 euros per day. Behind the tavern begins the famous and steep 347 steps, where the last 50 are wooden steps. The beach is not recommended for small children in strollers, precisely because of these steps. NOTE: THE STAIRS WERE DAMAGED IN THE EARTHQUAKE, FOLLOW US TO FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE BEEN REPAIRED

Egremni is a true paradise on earth. It is 2.5 km long, surrounded by white cliffs, which in some places are as high as 150 m. The water is turquoise blue, very clean. The beach has white sand and small pebbles. Due to its length, it is less crowded than on the surrounding beaches. The only drawback is that the beach is directly open to the sea, so there is a strong wind and huge waves. The water is generally quite cold.

How to get to Egremni beach:

Note: the 2015 earthquake knocked down the stairs and the path leading to the beach so we hope to fix it soon. There are boats that run to this beach from Nidri and Vasiliki, where they stay for an hour or two. There are also those tourists who go down to Egremna at their own risk. The descent is very steep and not safe, and someone even put ropes to make the descent and hiking easier. We do not recommend that you go down to the beach on your own, especially since there is a risk of a landslide.
