Evia (Euboea) is the second largest island in Greece and the third in the eastern Mediterranean, located about 150 km south of Paralia, more precisely below Volos, some 80 km from Athens.

The island is 180 km long and 7-50 km wide. The most popular places among tourists are Pefki, Limni, Edipsos. The island of Evia is a beautiful holiday destination, with long beaches, pine forests, peaceful nights and views of fashionable Skiathos. The whole island is covered with forests and olive groves.

The island is rich in pine forests, so it is understandable that the resin, which is collected here from the trees, is later used as an essential ingredient of the famous Greek wine, retina. In addition to endless olive groves and fig trees, the Greeks have also started growing pistachios on the island in the last twenty years, so the view of those plantations is a special attraction. The fishing fleet, which is considered the most developed and the best in Greece, also contributes to the wealth of this region.

Loutra Gialtra is an old village in the very north of the island of Evia. This village is located about 2 km from the sea. What needs to be noted is that this is a small and cute village and fishing town, a spa town as well as a municipal area.
As for tourist facilities, especially the beach, this place cannot boast of that. The beach is small and extremely narrow, almost non-existent. Local residents bathe there most often.

Loutra Gialtra is at an altitude of 149m. According to the population census from 1991, the number of inhabitants was slightly more than eight hundred people, which is a decrease of about three hundred people compared to 1981.

This small village is occasionally visited by the local population, there are generally no tourists and it would be interesting to see. Since this tourist region is still under development, we sincerely hope that this small town will be visited by our tourists.

If you happen to find yourself here, locations close to Loutra Gialtras are the ancient city of Athens Diades and the village of Agios Georgios Gialtras. The village of Agios Georgios Gialtras had an impressive number of only 26 inhabitants in the last population census. Seoce is extremely peaceful and worth seeing, you will have the feeling that you are in a fairy tale.
