On the east coast of the Kassandra Peninsula, mid-way between Kalitea and Polichrono, 89 km from Thessaloniki, the destination is the tourist settlement Kriopigi, an increasingly popular summer destination on Halkidiki’s tourist map. The settlement, whose name translates as cold spring, has about 500 inhabitants, to multiply during the tourist season. It is made up of old and new town, each with its own peculiarities and beautiful views of Torones Bay and distant Sithonia (second finger of Halkidiki).

Another, more recent part of Cryopigi, descends along the seashore, with a rich tourist offer for everyone’s taste and pocket. Hotels, pines, taverns and restaurants, as well as a supermarket with swimming pools and sports grounds, are just a part of the tourist offer, to which should be added a rich offer of souvenirs and local products. There are also gastronomic specialties from fish to kid roast and pork.

The sandy beaches of Cryopigia, near the clear and clear sea, are narrowing and expanding, mostly with shallow water, which is extremely favorable for families with young children. Part of the beach is covered by pine forests that descend to the coast, filled with taverns and cafes and colorful loungers. So most of the beach is in the shade in the afternoon. The EU’s blue flag is a sign of the high standard of cleanliness and cleanliness of the beach.
