Kastri beach, Sithonia

Kastri beach, Sithonia

In the area of the former ancient city of Galipsos, mentioned by the historian Heorodot, is the divine beach of Kastri. On the small island of Kastri after which this beach is named, there are also the remains of the old settlement.

This beach is not so easy to reach. A narrow path leads to it. It should go the old way along the beach, which goes from Agios Georgios in Nikiti to Ai Yiannis beach. You can reach Kastri Beach from Agios Yiannis Beach (which has great parking and which is extremely nice) in a few minutes. We recommend the car, but it can also walk (we walk on foot past the beautiful villas that surround it).

The beach consists of two parts separated by a rocky promontory. It is sandy and in the water in the coast. The shallow is about 50m long, so this beach is ideal for non-swimmers and children. There is almost never a crowd on Castro beach so it is ideal for complete peace and paradise for hedonists who want to exclude themselves from the city crowd. There are no tourist facilities on the beach, so it is necessary to bring towels and parasols, food and water with you.

From Kastri beach you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. Here you can take beautiful photos, or simply leave all the cameras aside and meditate with a unique sunset.

In our view, this beach has been unfairly neglected by our tourists. Beautiful natural environment, highly appreciated among the Greeks who make beautiful holiday homes here, that’s why every recommendation is not to miss the charms of this pearl of Sithonia, will return you with unprecedented peace and beauty.

Next to Castri Beach is a hill with a great view, and the road further leads to a peninsula where the remains of the ancient city are said (we did not check, if anyone did – let us write a word) –
