Neos Marmaras beach. Sithonia

Neos Marmaras Beach is located in the southern part of the city. Although a city beach, it was awarded the blue flag. The beach is sandy, the water is shallow, so it’s a good choice for families with young children.

The beach is long and continues south to the Porto Carras beach of the hotel. It is largely with natural shade. The part closer to the luxury complex of Porto Carras is decorated, while the part towards the city is available to visitors with their own equipment. The sea has a nice color, the depth is gradual, and the sand is fine.

The southern part of the beach belongs to the Porto Carras hotel complex and consists of three blue flag beaches, only one of which (Kohi beach) is available to non-hotel visitors. Entrance to the complex is paid from 3 to 10 € per person depending on the season. Privately owned by this complex, much of the coastline between Neos Marmaras and Toroni belongs to the hotel’s twenty other small and wild bays that can be reached either on foot or by bike, but only through the complex.

When you continue on the highway from Neos Marmaras to Toroni, you will turn right after Porto Carras. If you enjoy the beautiful scenery and love exploring, be sure to head down to the coast. A very winding and poorly traffic asphalt road through the coniferous forest awaits you. You will have the opportunity to see from a height a large number of small, wild bays, the beautiful color of the sea, the combination of blue and green, luxury yachts tucked into these beautiful bays. You will be surprised how many interesting private homes are in this remote and less well known area.

When descending, drive along the shoreline, which is mostly untidy and narrow, with larger gravel or sand of a slightly darker color but perfect for anyone who wants to get out. The first major beach you come across is Agia Kiriaki Beach in front of Camp Stavros. This beach is very nice, in the wind, with a natural shade, but needs to be reached early because of the possible crowds. It has a tavern and a cafe with a nice view and a large number of moored boats. The beach is with fine gravel and gradual depth.

If you continue a little further you will pass by beautiful private houses surrounded by pine trees, by the beautiful coastline and the calm, crowded sea and you will reach the Panos Tavern. It is a fish tavern with slightly higher prices, but in a beautiful setting, in the shade, by the sea. It is especially nice to visit it before sunset. The tavern is very visited. Guests here come with speedboats and smaller boats from Cassandra.
