Plaka beach

Plaka beach

location: near Agios Ioannis beach on its left and Edem Hotel

beach: golden sand, smooth pebbles

Plaka is a beautiful beach on the east coast of Pelion, in the immediate vicinity of Agios Ioannis, which is only an 800-meter easy walk away. To the north of it is the beach of Agios Saranta, and to the south is the beach and place of Agios Ioannis, which continues into the beach of Papa Nero.

Plaka is covered with fine white sand, the water is crystal clear, with plenty of shallows, so it is suitable for families with small children. Although sand predominates, on the beach you have water and pebbles, small pebbles of all colors, attractive rocks. The beach is protected by tall green trees that create a nice shade.

In the last few years, the beach has become quite commercialized and has become very popular. On weekend days in season, the beach is very crowded. Be prepared to pay the entrance fee to the beach if you go by car. For 6 euros (the price is variable, and it will hardly be lower 😉 ) you get a parking space, two drinks with deckchairs and an umbrella, which is very convenient for Greek conditions.
There is a beach bar on the beach where you can buy drinks and ice cream. There are also a couple of private villas and several restaurants. In the middle of the beach there is a very attractive source of water, which makes a beautiful cascade, which comes out of the rock and greenery. The water is always cold and great for drinking. Beach volleyball is organized on Plaka.

Many tourists who stayed in Agios Ioannis come here to swim. The beautiful turquoise color of the sea, warm, shallow and clean water, well-kept and attractive beach with plenty of shade, attract many tourists. The beach is highly recommended.
