Agii Apostoli, Attika

Agii Apostoli, Attika

Agii Apostoli is a charming and traditional Greek place in the eastern part of Attica, spread over a small bay and with a wonderful view of the neighboring island of Evia. Just a 40-minute drive from Athens, over the impressive hills of Attica, you arrive in this very peaceful and fairy-tale place, which is ideal for a relaxing and family vacation.

This entire area of Attica has lush vegetation, where evergreen trees and pine forests prevail, so our stay in Agia Apostoli reminded us most of the places and pleasant smells of pine trees that you can find on the northern Croatian coast. The air here is exceptional, the wind is always blowing, which combined with the smell of the sea and the pine forest really gives a quality and pleasant stay in the hot summer days in Greece.

About 1,600 people live in the town itself, but a large number of visitors come during the summer, mostly during the weekend. Perhaps it could be concluded that this is one of the favorite weekend spots of Athenians, and foreign tourists are a rarity here. The nearest larger town is Kalamos.
Agii Apostoli has two beaches. Both beaches are covered with pebbles and have extremely clean and clear water. Since it is a bay, the sea is mostly calm and there are no big waves. The city beach is located in the center of the city, and on it there are cafes and taverns that have their own deckchairs and umbrellas that can be rented against the payment of drinks and food. There is also a shower, changing room and lifeguard on the beach. All cafes have WiFi. The second beach, which is not organized at all, is located on the right at the exit of the town and it has natural shade, which is created by the trees on the beach, mostly in the afternoon. On the
on this beach in the water due to the extremely clear water, you may come across some urchins, so it is not a bad idea to have water shoes.

You have everything you need in the place, as there are two large supermarkets, and on Monday mornings, on the main promenade, a green market is organized with fresh fruits and vegetables at prices that are more than reasonable. In the center there is a small marina with fishing boats where you can always buy freshly caught and fresh fish from local fishermen in the morning. Judging by the catch, there are plenty of fish here.

There are also bakeries, pastry shops and cafes, so the place can be recommended to the younger population as well.
