Agios Mamas beach, Sithonia

Agios Mamas is actually a village located on the peninsula of Sithonia and close to Nea Mudanja. The beach is named after the place it is located. The beach is side and sandy. Agios Mamas Beach is located on Torone Bay, 3 km from the beach (Tata Aloni), between the two fingers (smaller peninsulas) of Kasssandra and Sithonia, 68 km southeast of Thessaloniki and 9 km east of Nea Moudanie.

This area is known for its population engaged in agricultural and mainly olive growing. The special charm that this small coastal town has is precisely this charm of untouched nature, the beach where you will not encounter crowds during the peak season, and where you will see endless olive plantations at every turn.

Also, what should not be forgotten is the festival, which takes place every year in the first half of September and is the largest festival in Halkidiki. It is a favorite with the locals and is regularly visited by a large number of tourists.

Between Agios Mamas and Potideepostoji there is a section in the sea that creates a unique lagoon and is a protected area by law because the habitat is 2000 bird varieties. Local people often like to declare this area a national park.

Also, this area is rich in history. The oldest known organized settlement in the Agios Mamas area is located on a hill of the same name (where there are excavations currently taking place) and has existed since 5000 BC.
However, the oldest known records confirming that there was a settlement in the area – with its present name, are on Athos and these documents date as far back as 1047. 1423 The Ottomans conquer Agios Mamas. In the mid-15th century, the village belonged to the Ottoman ruler (Michael Bei). It should also be noted that in 1821 the villagers played an active role in the Greek Revolution. The first known historical records for trade and livestock trade date back to 1870.

Any recommendation for anyone who wants to get really tired without too much fuss and fuss.
