Argostoli
Argostoli is the capital of Kefalonia with a population of 14,000. It is located at the end of the bay, surrounded by mountains and green forests.

The city was adorned with beautiful Venetian buildings that were destroyed along with the entire city and surrounding villages in the 1953 earthquake. The city was rebuilt with the help of the Greek government with an effort to maintain the authentic architecture of the island.

The 650 m stone bridge “Drapano” stands at the entrance to the city. In the center is a small pyramid dedicated to Charles de Bosset, who built the bridge.

Other attractions of Argostoli are the botanical garden, the Archaeological Museum, the Folklore Museum, the city library, the Kefalos Theater, the Lighthouse of Phanari (Saint Theodore), which is the trademark of Kefalonia.
