The Kassandra Peninsula is located on the first of the three fingers of Halkidiki, in the west. History says that this region was named after Cassandros, King of Macedonia in ancient times. The length of the Kassandra Peninsula is just over 50 kilometers, while it is only 10 kilometers wide. The altitude of the highest parts of the peninsula is about 400 meters, while the central part is mostly covered with olive groves and vineyards.
