Kalamaki, Pelion

Kalamaki is a village reached by a road that leads over the hill from Kala Nera. A place that is ideal for nature lovers, a place where the site team has visited several times (and will again, with great pleasure). If you like peace and quiet and don’t mind driving 4-5 kilometers to the beach, this is the ideal place for a vacation.

In the off-season, about a hundred locals live in Kalamaki, in the season there are a little more. The nearest store is located in Neohori, a ten-minute drive away. Three times a week a van brings bakery products to the town, and Lidl is a 45-minute drive away, near Volos (in Agria). The advantage of Kalamaki is the good location for exploring Pelion and the incredible peace.

Another great attraction of Kalamaki is the exceptional beach, with impeccably clear waters, which we recommend you visit if you are staying on Pelion. There are two restaurants in the center of the town (see pictures), one is in an antique style, and the other is in a modern style with an exceptional view – when it’s clear, you can see Kassandra, Sithonia and Athos on the left, and Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos on the right. . The prices in the restaurants are decent, they have WiFi, and they are located on the main square in the shade of a huge plane tree.
