Kohi beach, Sithonia

Kohi beach, Sithonia

Kohi Beach is part of the Porto Carras complex. It extends to 450m. Most of the beach is with deck chairs and parasols, somewhere in four rows. Kohi is a sandy beach with small pebbles and an abrupt deepening. This is one of the most modern and popular beaches in Sithonia, with sandy driveways to all parts of the beach, white deck chairs, cane umbrellas, sand volleyball courts, changing rooms, showers for additional refreshments, lazy beds for lounging and enjoying pillows. The beach also houses Kohi Bar, one of the most famous bars in Halkidiki, after which the beach is named.

This beach is Porto Carras Beach. It is located a few kilometers south of Neos Marmaras and is reached through the hotel complex. After passing the marina, continue left along the path to the sandy beach, clear waters with sandy bottom. The beach, like all Porto Carras beaches, has a blue flag year after year. There is everything on the beach and it is well organized, so it can accommodate a lot of swimmers and is never crowded.

The southern part of the beach belongs to the aforementioned Porto Carras hotel complex and there are three blue flag beaches within it, only one of which (Kohi beach) is available to non-hotel visitors. Entrance to the complex is paid from 3 to 10 € per person depending on the season. Privately owned by this complex, much of the coastline between Marmaras and Toroni belongs to the hotel’s twenty other small and wild bays that can be reached either on foot or by bike, but only through the complex.

Turn right to continue on the road leading to the marina, that is, to the Meliton Hotel and Sithonia while the left path leads to the southern part of the marina, diving center and Kohi beach and beach bar. This time it climbs part of the hill where there are two lookouts with fantastic views of the entire marina and the Meliton Hotel. Yachts viewed from this angle are pictures that leave no one indifferent, so be sure to take a chance on an experience that is not the usual picture.

At the southern end of Kohi Beach is a hill behind which is the last cove of that fantastic array of 17 exotic beaches. Kohi is full-length sand (small pebbles) with a rapid transition into the depth of a clear turquoise blue sea.
