Lagonisi beach
Lagonisi is a beautiful beach, located 2 kilometers south of Ormos Panagias (GPS: N40.2297096 / E23.7441062)
It is less crowded before noon, but in the afternoon many local residents come to enjoy the beautiful sea on one of the most beautiful beaches in Sithonia. Children especially love this beach because of the many shells at the entrance. The beach has very fine sand and a sandy bottom, a long shallow and a beautiful turquoise color of the water. The sea is very clear, crystal clear, and because of the light-colored sand, it has a transparent, light blue color. A special attraction is a small peninsula on unusual rocks and stones. There are a lot of our tourists on Lagonisi beach.
NOTE: until recently, the beach was wild and untidy, but since 2015, a beach bar has been opened here, which occupies most of the beach. Deck chairs with umbrellas can be rented here, which in the season cost up to 10 euros (data subject to change). There is organized parking within the bar. The natural shade that was on the beach now belongs to the beach bar. On the right side of the beach, there is an ungroomed part where you can use your umbrella.
Also, the beach bar has taken up most of the parking space, and if you don’t want to go to the cafe, you have to continue along the dirt road to the right, which is free. During weekends, the beach is crowded, so we advise you to come to Lagonisi on a weekday, before noon. There are also several small rocky coves that you can explore.
There is a small bay to the left of the beach bar. Across the beach is the island of Diaporos, which is why this bay is protected from the wind, so the sea is usually calm and without waves. We recommend families with small children.
