The Lassi Peninsula, which separates Koutavos Lagoon to the east and the large Argostoli Gulf to the west, is a popular and lively tourist destination.

After the arrival of tourism on Kefalonia, it developed along the western coast of the peninsula, from its northern cape, where the picturesque lighthouse of St. Theodorosa and all the way to the 11 kilometers distant airport on the southern part of the island. The entire belt is due to the appearance of the so-called katavothres and a peculiar geological phenomenon.
