Pefki, Evia

Pefki, Evia

Pefki is a small resort in the north of the island of Evia, which has become very popular with our tourists in the last few years.

Across from Pefki is the Pelion peninsula, and a little further on the island of Skiathos, to which very affordable boat trips are organized every day. The place got its name from the pine trees along the coast.

There is a well-maintained promenade along the entire town, which separates the beach from the center itself. Pefki is an ideal destination for our tourists, because it has very favorable prices for non-boarding consumption. When walking through Pefki, Serbian-language menus dominate, where the famous gyros pie in Pefki is on average around 2 EUR, while we managed to find one for less in one place. The local foreigners do not speak English very well, but things in Pefki have started to develop favorably for us, according to the market, which is currently mainly made up of our tourists.

Here there are many restaurants, taverns with local specialties, bars, pastry shops, supermarkets, butchers, pharmacies… The offer of accommodation is also very large. The place is ideal for families with small children, but the rich nightlife in Pefki promises a great time for the younger population of tourists as well.

Pefki has a very long sandy-pebble beach about 4 km long. Due to its spaciousness, the beach is not crowded. Sunbeds and umbrellas are rented with a drink, from cafes and bars on the beach, but there are plenty of places on the beach where you can also put down your umbrella. The sea is extremely clean and clear, and you will have a unique sunset on the beach. From the beach there is a view across the road, of very attractive rocks and mountains on the mainland of Greece.

Pefki has a developed local bus service, where even if you don’t have your own transport,  you can visit the Edipsos spa with thermal springs. You can also go by bus for 3 EUR to one of the most beautiful beaches on Evia – the famous Elinika beach. Elinika is a beautiful small bay, surrounded by a pine forest. The beach is sandy, with very shallow water, and is ideal for families with small children. Because of the large shallows, and the calm bay without waves, the sea water is always warm. Across the street is a small island with a small church of St. Nicholas, which you can swim to.

It is the trademark of Elinik beach. In the town of Elinik itself, we saw a lot of private accommodation, where mostly our tourists spend their summer.

Excursions from Pefki:

– boat cruise to the island of Skiathos (visit to Skiathos town and Kukunaries beach)

– departure to Athens

– visit to the Edipsos thermal spa in the east of Evia

– a visit to Halkida (the capital of Evia)
