Possidi

Possidi

Possidi is located on the western tip of the Kassandra Peninsula about 110 km from Thessaloniki. The name Possidi is associated with the ancient tradition and worship of the god of the sea Poseidon whose remains were found in the region of the ancient sanctuary.

Possidi is recommended for divers who can see the remnants of a wreckage before the new era, but caution is advised as you must be careful of the currents that are extremely strong in this part of the sea.

The biggest attraction is certainly the Possidi cape (Possidi cape), which is about 7 km away. Here in the far west of Kassandra lies a sandy butt and a beautiful beach. Due to the tides, the beach constantly changes its shape and when the sea recedes the beach is often shown in a completely different form. One part of the beach is decorated, covered with deck chairs and parasols, which can be rented from a nearby cafe. The second part is about 1 km long and is completely unregulated, covered with white sand and because of its vastness it is never crowded.

Possidi Beach

Possidi is a quiet fishing village with endless, sandy and pebbly, white beaches surrounded by pine trees. Possidia’s town beach is pebbly, a few meters below the promenade, with easy entry into the water. There are several beach bars and tavernas on the beach as well as a very good fish restaurant. Today, Possidi has grown into a hotel and apartment resort, with a recognizable lighthouse on a small cape. Not far away is the village of Kalandra with typical Greek houses and tavernas.

protect the Possidi character

As it is mostly about hotel complexes, nightlife is not as diverse. There are several cafes along the beach as well as various animations in the hotels themselves. Possidi is a family holiday resort. Don’t come here if you want a fierce all-night party. Many hotels have live music mainly in the evenings, and evenings of Greek music and food are often organized.

Posidi offers the perfect climate with plenty of sunny days a year, and beautiful scenery. A clean horizon and an idyllic sunset add to the enjoyment of your vacation.
