Tsagarada and the old bridge

Tsagarada is one of the most famous villages on Pelion. It is located under the main road. It has colorful architecture and a beautiful square in the center.

Tsagarada is built in a chestnut forest, and is widely famous for its 1000-year-old plane tree and house of flowers. The plane tree creates shade like a miniature forest, and is the main attraction for all visitors because the diameter of the tree is unimaginably large.

In front of Tsagarada itself, there is a small turnoff for the “Old bridge” cafe, whose terrace overlooks the canyon of the dried-up river, above which bends the old massive stone bridge. There is a stone path through the forest to the bridge, where you feel the peace and tranquility of Mother Nature. This is exactly the bridge that you can see on many postcards of Tsagkarada.
During the day, the restaurants in this village are mostly empty, and life begins only in the evening. Tsagarada is divided into several communities, namely: Agioi Taxiarches, Agia Paraskevi, Agios Stefanos, Agia Kiriaki and Agios Georgios, which are located around the old, renovated churches.
